This week, I’ll be guest hosting our new playlist segment, and if you’ve ever browsed through my tag, you know exactly what to expect. I’m completely, unrepentantly invested in all things RPG. More often than not, that means I’m responsible for curating a playlist to accompany me through the wilds of another world. From Skyhold to Solitude, I’ve seen my fair share of lush, sweeping landscapes, and I know a thing or two about what type of music you should have ready in your saddlebag. (Never leave the stables without portable speakers.)
This particular mix is best suited for when you’re on horseback, just slowing to a canter while the sun starts to dip below the treetops, setting the sky ablaze. It’s around that time you’ve clocked in over 48+ hours and you’re veering away from the main storyline to immerse yourself in hundreds of side quests and plenty of map exploration. Personally, this is my favorite part of gameplay. It’s the sweet spot at the precipice of familiarity and the unknown, holding out just a little longer before I continue on with my destiny to save the world.
It’s just me, my mount, and my weapon—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
