TellTale Games has released a little more information about the upcoming Game of Thrones: A TellTale Game Series, including a release date! TellTale Games published the following tweet:

And, in case you couldn’t read through the mass of hashtags and consoles, its release will be tomorrow, December 2nd (for PC/Mac). The date has arrived. Is it too cliche to say “Winter is coming?” Yes, but it happened.
There’s also confirmation that some of the book-turned-show-turned-game-series’ most beloved (and loved to be hated) characters will be featured in the game, voiced by their respective actors. This includes Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer)—initiate girl crush alert—and Ramsay Snow (Iwan Rheon). TellTale Games hints other recognizable characters from the series can and will appear throughout gameplay, but those details remain a mystery. TellTale also released a trailer that shows very little gameplay, but at least it’s narrated by Cersei (Headey) and depicts each of the aforementioned characters for a brief moment.
If you’re not familiar with the storyline behind the Game of Thrones game series, allow me to fill you in: It begins towards the end of season three and ends near the beginning of season five of the television show. Popular locations from the series—including The Wall and King’s Landing, to name a few—will be key locations featured while playing the game. House Forrester, a familiar name in George R. R. Martin’s A Dance with Dragons but not yet included in the television series, will also be a big component of the game.
Characters you play will all be from House Forrester and spread out over Westeros. House Forrester is located in the north by Wolfswood, seated on Ironrath, and has shown great loyalty to House Stark. This is why Cersei’s voice is filled with disgust when speaking of House Forrester in the trailer.
Your objective is to the save the house from destruction. Your actions have consequences that are magnified by the five characters you play. Each decision you make will play a vital role in unravelling the story.
Thirteen characters featured in the game series have been released, but the playable ones haven’t been disclosed. Unfortunately, of these thirteen characters, only three are female—meaning we don’t exactly have the best chances for one, much less all three women to be playable. Can’t say I’m not disappointed. But we can still have some hope, right?
Still, if you’re interested in picking it up, Game of Thrones: A TellTale Game Series can be pre-ordered on Steam and will be available on major consoles such as PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and on both PC and Mac computers as well as iOS systems.
